Who Is the Large Ohana Session Designed For?

At 45 minutes, there’s time to photograph the whole group, break into smaller subsets — grandparents with grandkids, adult siblings, just the kids — and still have room for some unscripted moments at the water’s edge. For comparison, the Signature Family Session runs 30 minutes for up to 8 guests and includes 60+ photos, while the Quick Beach Portrait is 20 minutes for up to 4 guests.
What Beaches are Used for the Large Ohana Session?
Large Ohana Sessions take place at Kapalua Beach, Napili Bay, or DT Fleming Beach — all on West Maui. The specific location is confirmed after booking. DT Fleming Beach, with its wide open stretches of white sand, often works particularly well for large groups because of the space it provides to spread out and move through different configurations.
Your photographer will confirm the meeting point and provide parking guidance before the session. Given the size of the group, coordinating arrival is important — plan to have everyone at the beach 10 minutes before the session start time so the full 60 minutes goes toward photographing, not gathering.

How do you photograph 20+ people in a single beach session?
Photographing a large group well requires a plan, and your photographer comes prepared with one. The 45-minute session is structured to work through multiple combinations: the full group together, generational subsets, family units, and candid moments throughout. The goal isn’t to line everyone up for one big shot and call it done — it’s to capture the energy and genuine connection of the whole ohana in multiple ways.
What's the cancellation policy for the Large Ohana Session?
Full refunds are available with at least 24 hours’ notice before the session. Cancellations made within 24 hours are non-refundable. If weather or ocean conditions are unsuitable, we will reschedule or provide a full refund.
