This is the session for extended families who have flown in to be together. Forty-five minutes leaves room for the whole ʻohana in one frame, each household on its own, grandparents with grandchildren, couples, siblings and the kids, with candid moments caught in the gaps between set-ups.

Choosing the Beach for a Large Group
Your photographer picks the beach the evening before. It comes down to light, weather, access and conditions on the day, and it will be one of four: Kapalua Bay, Napili Bay, D.T. Fleming Beach or Ironwoods Beach. Large groups often do well at D.T. Fleming, where the sand runs wide enough for twenty people to spread out and regroup.
Facilities help with a crowd, too. Maui County’s listing for D.T. Fleming Park shows a 22-space lot and an 80-space lot, restrooms and an outdoor shower. Access varies by beach and can mean uneven terrain and a short walk, so mention mobility needs before booking and the team will suggest the most accessible spot.

How a Forty-Five-Minute Session Runs
The session follows a set order, so every household gets its turn:
- Arrival and organization: your family coordinator gathers the group and reviews the priority list with the photographer.
- Full ʻohana portraits: the whole family first, while everyone is together and photo-ready.
- Family combinations: households, grandparents and grandchildren, couples, siblings, children and any other key groupings.
- Candid moments and final requests: natural interaction, laughter and any priority combinations still left on the list.
Preparation is what makes 45 minutes work for twenty people, and three things do most of it: everyone arriving early, one coordinator who knows the plan, and a written list of the groupings you care about, in order. Bring that list.
Late Arrivals, Weather and Cancellations
Late arrivals cut into the photo time, and the scheduled end time can’t be extended. With twenty people that adds up fast, so have everyone at the beach 15 minutes before the start.
Weather calls belong to the photographer, based on safety and the state of the beach. Clouds and brief showers don’t cancel anything on their own, and the session may move to another beach. If it can’t safely go ahead, you can reschedule free or get a full refund.
With 72 hours’ notice or more, a cancellation or reschedule earns a refund or booking credit, less any nonrefundable booking or processing fees. Requests inside that window, and no-shows, pay the full booking amount.
